The Fareva Group wishes to announce the acquisition in May 2019 of the Genfar Colombian site, a subsidiary of the Sanofi Group located in Villa Rica in Cauca area near Cali, Colombia.
The production site built in 2000 by Genfar (founded in 1964) had belonged to SANOFI since 2013.
Specialized in the production of unbranded generics, the site offers a wide variety of technologies: sterile (injectable ampoules), solid products (tablets, capsules, granules and powders), semi-solids (creams, gels, salves) and liquids (syrups, suspensions, oral and external solutions). The site also has packaging lines: blisters, plastic or glass bottles for powders and liquids, aluminum tubes, strips.
Fareva, a global player in the subcontracting of cosmetics, make-up, pharmaceuticals & APIs, industrial & household products, has thus welcomed its 41st production site and is positioning itself as a player in the pharmaceutical market in South America.
Following this new acquisition, the group now has 14 production sites in the pharmaceutical sector, including 8 in France, 4 in the rest of Europe (Germany, Italy and the United Kingdom) and 1 in the United States (Richmond).
An agreement with Sanofi allows Fareva to maintain the production of Genfar unbranded generics on site while developing production and export capacities as well as research and development for the benefit of Fareva's customers throughout the Americas.
